Phoenix Plumbing Repairs

HB953 is a proposed House bill that will rid the proper training for Louisiana plumbing licenses, essentially letting anyone go and "take a test" without proper training.

This will put the health of our community at risk. I have personally seen many "plumbing" jobs that were done by unlicensed "contractors". And it is very scary what we find. Sewerage leaks, contaminated drinking water, not to mention gas leaks and carbon monoxide leaks. I've personally seen things done so poorly, it scares me.

This is also a huge slap to the face for every journeyman, master plumber, and the poor guys currently training, putting in those long hard hours of training that we all did/doing to get where we are. And now they just want to hand out these licenses.

All Louisiana residents need to contact local legislators who serve on the House Commerce Committee. HB953 will be heard in the committee within the next two weeks and we need to make sure that we have let the committee members know that PHCCLA is OPPOSED to this bill.

I have attached our talking points, a form letter you may use and PERSONALIZE to send by email, as well as call guidance for calls to the members. We encourage you to also share with your employees and apprentices to ask for their involvement in this grassroots effort.
