The August 4 ballot will include a measure asking voters whether to create a Covington Park and Recreation District (CPRD). Common questions residents are asking include what is the CPRD and how is it funded.

The CPRD is a separate local government entity that can provide funding for park and recreation improvements, maintenance, and projects. It would be funded through a property tax levy if approved by the voters. To learn more about the specific levy rate and what the potential costs to homeowners could be based on home values, visit www.covingtonwa.gov/cprd.
