Edelen for Covington

Tonight, before our Board of Education meeting, I had the chance to say a few words about the passing of Katie Meyer.

Katie was part of my life for as long as I can remember. We knew each other as kids at Latonia Elementary, played soccer together, and somehow life kept our paths connected from there. We grew up loving the same city, and in our own ways, both tried to give something back to the place that raised us.

Katie loved the Cov with her whole heart. She believed in this city, believed in its people, and never stopped showing up for it. She was a leader, a friend, and someone I deeply admired. She showed so many of us what it looks like to love the COV and to fight for its future without ever losing sight of the people and culture that make it special.

Covington is better because Katie Meyer was part of our story.
