Appeal Your Property Taxes Before It's Too Late!

If you own a property in Georgia, you have 45 days from the date you receive your property tax notice (which you should have received between May and June) to file an appeal. If this notice is not received, the board cannot extend the deadline, making it critical to check your mail for the notice or calling your local County Board of Tax Assessors office.

Where to File: Submit your appeal in writing to your local County Board of Tax Assessors.

Method: You can often file online, in person, or by mail (certified mail is recommended).

Basis for Appeal: You can appeal based on value, uniformity, taxability, or denial of exemptions.

Once that window closes, your assessed value is locked in for the year. SO GET ON IT!
