Meet Recap | Festival of Steel – July 19, 2025

Squat: 342.5 lbs
Bench: 242.5 lbs
Deadlift: 440 lbs
Total: 1,025 lbs (465 kg)

✔️ Played it smart on squat — had more in the tank.
❌ 250 bench stalled halfway.
⚠️ 470 deadlift broke the floor, but I felt a tug in my left pec and made the call to shut it down. Live to lift another day.

This meet was a test. Now the goal is clear:
520 kg (1,146 lbs) this November — the total I hope to hit to qualify for USAPL Masters 1 Nationals in the 90kg class.

Back to work. Even when the days are full. Even when it’s hard. Especially then.

More photos coming soon once the photographer drops the finished set.

Last week, I had one of those squat days where everything felt heavy.

– Slow reps
– Shaky walkout
– Zero snap in my legs
– Mentally not in it

I’d been stacking barbell squats, deadlifts, bench, kettlebell work—pushing every session. And my nervous system was smoked.

Most people think it’s just sore muscles.
But when your CNS (central nervous system) is taxed, the bar feels heavier, recovery slows down, and everything feels harder.

But here’s what most people miss:

✅ The slow reps still count
✅ The hard days still build strength
✅ You’re still on track—even when it sucks

Training isn’t always about crushing PRs.
It’s about showing up, especially on the days you don’t want to.

As the 4th of July rolls in, celebrate hard, rest hard, but don’t fall off track.

Heavy days are part of the process. Stick with it.

No excuses. No crowds. No BS. Just iron, sweat, and discipline.

This is where I train—and where I coach others to do the same. Simple setup. Serious results

Simplicity + Consistency = Results
