CFD Engine Company #4 - Retired
CFD Engine Co. 4 was built in 1888 as a horsedrawn carriage Fire Company. It is now a private residence dedicated to maintaining its proud history.
Winter in Mainstrasse!
Our neighbor found and shared the below video with us showing Fire Horses in 1903 being harnessed and deployed. Very cool!

At our recent CFD Open House, Retired Lieutenant Jerry Kirby, who served at Co. 4, entrusted us with a bunch of his old equipment. This gift included his turnout gear, an O2 mask in the box that was actually on Pumper 4, a bunch of documentation and inspection reports, various patches (which I just put into a shadow box today) and his amazing helmet onto which he himself installed a copper eagle's head. Such awesome additions to maintain the great history of this building. They will definitely find places of distinction here. Thank you, Jerry Kirby!
Unless anyone objects or there is reason not to - December 10th (after Breakfast with Santa), we'll again be having an open house. Pizza, beer and soft drinks (for those on duty). Again, just a simple thank you to those who serve. We'll post more as it gets closer. Be safe! 12/10/2016.
