To all the parents out there, I always say there are two gifts that your child can give you. The first, is if they want to be just like you. Follow in your Footsteps exactly. And then they chase the same dreams you chased.

And the second, is when they follow a different path and choose a different passion. And then you get to learn about that through them, while you support them on their journey.

My daughter Kaia loves theater, singing, and performing arts. I didn’t used to know anything about any of that, but I do now.  🎶 🎼

Growing up as athlete. I never saw the theater kids as being similar to athletes. But I changed my mind, because the amount of practice, dedication and the life skills that are built by competing and being part of a team are actually more similar than I realized.

And I’m grateful to Kaia for giving me that second gift, and getting to support her and the great group of friends she has made through theater and music. 🎶 💃
