On this radiant June 2nd, as Italy awakens in splendor for the Feast of the Italian Republic, my heart stirs across the ocean.
For 53 years, I have called America home, walking its bustling streets and chasing its bold dreams. Yet every Festa della Repubblica, my soul flies back to the land of my birth. Beneath azure skies, the Tricolore still dances—green as the hills that cradled my childhood, white as the pure hopes of youth, red as the passion that never faded.
In 1946, my people rose from war’s ashes, choosing the Republic with ballots of courage and ballots of light. Today, from my American shore, I march with them in spirit: through Rome’s proud avenues, Tuscan sunlit slopes, and Sicilian shores whispering ancient songs.
I honor the brave who secured our freedom and celebrate Italy’s undying fire—art, resilience, and renewal. Though miles divide us, my heart rests forever where I was born.
Viva l'Italia! My eternal symphony of olive groves, marble dreams, and undying light.
