Fins Hawaiian Fusion

Dear Friends,

It is with mixed emotions, profound sadness and much difficulty that I must announce that our time at Fins has come to an end. During the past seven years we have experienced so many wonderful things; friendships, engagements, marriages, anniversaries, births and deaths.

My vision was to offer excellent food and service, and provide an intimate venue for local musicians. Through the hard work of my son Ben and the dedication a wonderful staff, this vision became a reality. I have been truly blessed having had such a wonderful staff; both in the front of the house and in the kitchen, to whom I owe a huge debt of gratitude and I offer my heartfelt thanks.

They say that the Lord works in mysterious ways. Well, Fins has been wonderfully mysterious. Certainly things did not go according to “my” plan, but I don’t for a minute regret my decision to embark upon this adventure. It has been a privilege to share a tiny part of the lives of so many wonderful people. We’ve laughed and cried. We’ve argued and pondered. We’ve kept secrets and we’ve shared secrets. We’ve hugged and we’ve kissed. We became a family.

And so; to my family, my staff, my vendors and my customers, I thank you for allowing me to experience my dream.

Fins Hawaiian Fusion

A heartfelt "thank you" to the musicians that performed on Wednesday and to the all the wonderful people that came out to support our friend Gonzo. What ever your beliefs are regarding the hereafter, it would be hard to argue that Gonzo's spirit was not here with us. Just a reminder, a memorial service will be held for Gonzo this Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Prince of Peace Presbyterian Church (on Crofton Parkway), with a reception immediately following at Fins. Again, thank you all.

If you’ve spent much time at Fins restaurant you’ve probably bumped into William Brill. His family called him Butch but at Fins he was known as “Gonzo”, an affectionate nickname given to him by my son Ben. Gonzo has been part of our “family” for nearly as long as we’ve owned Fins, so you can imagine our profound sadness to find out that he passed away last night in his sleep. He touched so many people here at Fins and he will be sorely missed. We love you Gonzo, and we will carry you in our hearts forever.

The Mike McHenry Tribe comes to Fins Hawaiian Fusion this Friday at 7:30 p.m.

The Chickenhawks treat Fins Hawaiian Fusion with 4 and 5 part harmony, and all your favorite classic rock tunes. The show starts at 9:00 and proceeds will go to support the Walk to End Alzheimer's Disease, which will be held on Saturday. Your support, and donation, will be much appreciated to help defeat this terrible disease.

Big Band Caliente starts at 7:30!!!

If you're at Fins Hawaiian Fusion tonight you won't know if your still in Crofton or at the Copa Cabana listening to Desi Arnez or Dizzy Gillespie. Big Band Caliente plays traditional and modern jazz with a Latin twist. Mmmmm, sounds like "fusion" to me! Fins does it with food, Caliente does it with music. Come in and hear (or taste) the heat! A feast for the senses.
