Author Jim St. Germain ( ), whose memoir "A Stone of Hope” tells the story of his immigration to the U.S. and overcoming an early life of crime, founded Preparing Leaders of Tomorrow ( ), a mentoring non-profit for at-risk youth between the ages of nine and twenty-one living in Brooklyn, New York.

After the talk, Eisenberg and St. Germain will sign their books. Proceeds from book sales go to Preparing Leaders of Tomorrow.

The intimate conversation will also co-founder ( Season 7), ' Kai Bond and Founder Jason Mowatt.

After the discussion, entrepreneurs will have three minutes to pitch their company for friendly feedback, pitch practice, and networking with fellow entrepreneurs.

ABOUT RICHARD
In the early 1990s, Richelieu Dennis cofounded Sundial Brands with the goal of creating natural hair and beauty products for consumers of color. Originally from Liberia, Dennis used his grandmother’s homebrewed recipes to create Sundial’s first products, which he sold on the streets of Harlem. Today, his company oversees three brands—SheaMoisture ( ), Nubian Heritage ( ), and Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture ( ) —and had an estimated value of $700 million in September 2015, when Bain Capital acquired a minority stake. In 2015 Sundial was named to the 5000 list of fastest-growing private companies in the United States and received the 2015 Corporate Social Responsibility of the Year Award from /Beauty Inc.

In addition to updates from Indivisible’s ( ) city, state and federal teams, the group hosts guest speaker Cynthia Nixon, candidate for the Democratic nomination for governor of New York. This is an informal meet up, and is not a fundraising or campaign event.

This Thursday, we are thrilled to partner with ”SIP&SKETCH,” to host a discussion and sketch session focused on accessibility and representation in fine art.

Authorities in the arts community do not currently reflect the diverse society that we live in. This session looks at barriers in the art world, and will delve into why exposure to the arts is important on a personal and cultural level.
