The FARM
Bridging the gap where communication is difficult by working with animals, gardening, and building.

Last Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we had the privilege of hosting the freshman class from DeMotte Christian High School, and we are beyond thankful for the many hands that came ready to serve. ❤️
These students tackled so many projects around the farm and ministry — cleaning up storm damage and fallen trees, helping in our animal barn and mentoring barn, painting the chicken coop, and knocking out a long list of projects that help us continue creating a welcoming and cared-for space for the families and kids who come here.
They worked hard, laughed hard, and brought such a fun energy to the farm. One highlight we probably won’t forget anytime soon: our pigs managed to knock over a 5-gallon bucket of paint… and then proceeded to run/swim/play in it like it was a luxury spa day. 🐷🎨😅
But beyond all the projects completed, it was such a blessing simply watching these kids encourage each other, joke around, play together, and serve with joyful hearts.
Because of their hard work, our farm is better prepared to love and serve families well, and we are so incredibly grateful. Thank you, DeMotte Christian High School freshmen, for spending your week with us and blessing this ministry in such a big way!

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for individuals 18 years & older who have dedicated their lives to serving Christ. We need individuals who have a heart for showing hope and love to children/teens.
What is the commitment?
One full year, once a week for 1 1/2 hours.
What does a mentoring session look like?
Mentoring sessions will take place at The FARM. Once a week, you will meet your mentee. The first half hour of the session, you will work together on a “chore.” The last hour of the session is student led. This could be spending time with the animals, crafting, going on a walk, playing games, or just sitting and having a conversation. You are building a relationship with your mentee!
