On Thursday, 5th grade students celebrated their completion of DARE with a DARE graduation. This included a musical performance as well as a ceremony where students received certificates. Eight students won the DARE essay contest, two won the draft cash prizes, and our PTO made a donation to DARE. What a great day for our 5th graders! Thank you, Cpl. Hasse, for your time and dedication to our students!

Last week, 4th grade had their recorder program. They played Monday for their grandparents and special people as well as Wednesday night for their families. They played beautifully!

Recently, Humane Indiana brought some of their ambassador animals to visit with Jerry Ross K-2 students. These ambassadors are some of the animals in which Lewis and Clark’s Corp of Discovery would have recorded on their trek West.

Our 2nd graders and their families had a blast at last night’s Family Folk Dance Night! This event is unique as it is a district-wide 2nd grade music program with family participation. Folk dancing helps build community and social skills by working with partners and a group, helps internalize a steady beat which helps motor skills, musicianship, and reading skills, and it brings joy and laughter to those who join in or watch! Thank you for your flexibility as we utilized our rain date. Our attendance was amazing and wonderful memories were made!
