You can't expect motivation to carry what structure was meant to support.

Motivation shows up loud and leaves early.
Structure is quiet and stays.

The people who last aren’t more inspired—they’re better oriented.

This is why boring, sweaty effort will always beat fleeting, shiny objects.

Aim. Execute. Recalibrate.

1. It's too late. If it hasn't happened yet, it won't.

2. You don't have what it takes.

3. If only you had her opportunities.

4. If only you had his genetics.

OR

1. Because my resolve is inevitable, so is my success.

2. I contain more than I can comprehend.

3. I don't need her opportunities. I just need to be ready for mine.

4. I can't control my genetics. But I can control my work ethic.

All voices.

One pushing and another pulling

Sometimes familiar. Sometimes new.

Capable of dragging you down or lifting you up.

They can harshly echo from childhood wounds.

They can playfully whisper from child-like hope.

And as diametrically opposite as these voices can be, they are strangely enough always seeking the same thing from you:

𝗔𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

So be discerning with your thoughts,

And purposeful with unity.

When you go to bed,

When you wake up,

And when you walk out that door.

Got this shirt from the small town, ho dunk, mom and pop gym I went to when I was 15 or 16. I was swimming in it and they didn't have other sizes.

I had a Walkman CD player that I could barely fit in my pants, and the wired headphones got caught on everything.

Paged through muscle and fitness magazines looking for the top-secret training program that promised 20lbs of muscle in a few months - total 🐂 💩 BTW.

I wasn't anywhere near where I wanted to be, but there was something special about it.

Maybe because no one was immersed in their phone all day.

Maybe because I was so present that I can still remember the smell of the iron, rubber floors, and awful protein bars.

Maybe because before there was ever a "pre-workout" market, half the stuff in the fridge had legit ephedrine in it 😎

I'd do anything to go back and slam some Ultimate Orange before riding my bike down there to chalk up and shoot the s**t with the same crowd.

They were the "good ol days."

Though I didn't know at the time.

And that's how it works.

You're busy thinking of where and who you want to be, and that you need to get there, *now*

So much that you don't realize there's something, right there in front of you, that one day you'll wish you could reach back and touch one more time.

I guarantee most of you are living through some "good ol' days" right now.

They might not be perfect days, but back then they didn't seem perfect either...until you look back.

So take a moment to soak up the moment.

Shut out the noise. Silence the notifications.

Vibe that playlist.

Feel the knurling of the bar bite into your hand.

You don't always have to look at your workout like it's an obligation, and the day like it's only a checklist.

They are both gifts.

Don't wait so long to realize it.

PSA: Your name will end up on one of these.

Like it or not.

No one will really care if you were a boomer, gen x, millennial, gen z, or whatever clever title is given next.

You will be remembered based on how much you did with what you had.

Or you will be forgotten because of how much you left on the table.

How clear or unclear you were with demonstrating who and what really matters.

The pages of your book are turning, whether you like it or not.

And that's not always a pretty thought.

Some of us have some ugly stuff in a chapter or two.

Some of us have left far too many pages full of passive ambiguity. 

Before I say anything else, I want to remind you of something. 

You're holding the #@%$ pen. This is YOUR story. 

For some of us, this means we need a plot twist.

Get on it.

And for those of you who are being recklessly optimistic with your timeline - none of us know if our book will have 30 chapters or 10.

Time to start writing with more clarity. 

What do you hate about the earlier version of you?

Did you not go after your potential because of who it would upset?

Were you unable to enjoy valuable moments because you lived in a prison of fear or anxiety?

Was your life outlook and self-worth stifled by a terrible relationship?

Did you avoid certain places, trips, or experiences because your health or weight was holding you back?

Will the rest of your chapters be filled with obscurity?

Or will they be stamped in fullness and redemption by way of intention and purpose?

As you can tell, this isn't a "warm and fuzzy" message to someone who needs a verbal cuddle partner.

I hope it gets you up off the couch, out of the haze, past the ruminating.

I hope it finds you convicted. 

I hope it blows some wind on those coals inside you that you have been allowing to die out. 

Some things in life happen to us.

But there's a whole lot more that can only happen through us.

What will you do with the time you have left?
