While cheering on his fiancée at the Akron Marathon, off-duty nurse practitioner Dan Molnar jumped two barricades to help a collapsed runner near the finish line.

He performed CPR for several minutes—twice—until the runner’s pulse came back for good.

Molnar’s actions can be described as heroic, but he downplays the praise.

“I don’t feel like I’m a hero at all. I’m just happy that I was there. I feel like I did what any other healthcare person would do,” he said.

While visiting Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta for work today, my meeting was pushed back by 30 minutes so I decided to donate blood. I then took some of the snacks to go and gave them to the homeless man on the corner of the 85 north ramp. Small acts of kindness can make big impacts.
