“When I entered this field, I couldn't find what I was looking for. I couldn't find a place where families truly felt heard, where clinicians felt empowered to grow, and where dignity was at the center of every decision. So instead of accepting "that's just how things are done," I decided to build it.
Families deserve more.
Clients deserve more.
Clinicians deserve more.
As BCBAs, we're often told that success means fitting into a box, following the status quo, and playing it safe. But our training, our experiences, and our passion equip us to do so much more than that.
We have the opportunity to advocate fiercely, lead boldly, challenge outdated practices, and create environments where both clients and clinicians can thrive.
Building Limitless ABA has never been about being different for the sake of being different. It's been about restoring dignity to the work we do, the families we serve, and the professionals who dedicate their lives to this field.
I was honored to share my story during this recent interview, and I hope it encourages others to think bigger about what's possible in ABA.” - Francesca Salazar, BCBA, CEO
Going Independent: Why One BCBA Built an Assent-Based ABA Company “We kept saying, if we can’t find what we’re looking for, then maybe we need to create it.”
Transitioning from a preferred activity to a non-preferred activity can be difficult. Here are some of the best priming techniques we use:
1. Visual cues — this includes interactive timers, schedules, and picture cards to give the client a clear understanding of what is happening next.
2. Communication — engaging with the client and providing them with functional language to self-advocate makes a significant difference. Communication is often overlooked because of the stereotype that the clients we serve “don’t understand.” Using language demonstrates mutual respect and builds trust.
3. Choices — although the end goal is to transition from one activity to another, offering the client options is crucial to following their lead.
As clinicians, it’s our responsibility to honor our clients and help them develop self-advocacy skills, not just collect data.
denied access is hard for all of us, but I didn’t mean to start a war 💔😩

Token boards are great visuals for everyone! Even for our staff 😂
I think we can all admit session notes are not as fun as being 1:1 😂
So real😂
Although some days feel like this, I wouldn’t trade it for the world 🫶🥹
