This kitchen was a special project because the clients came in without a defined vision and fully trusted me to create one that supported how their family lives. Their main goals were simple; open up the space and make room for an island where everyone could gather.

The challenge was the original footprint. It was tight and adding an island meant we needed to be thoughtful about how every inch worked. By pulling the breakfast room into the overall layout we were able to expand the usable space and give the island a true purpose as both a prep zone and a comfortable spot for the whole family to sit together.

It was also important to keep the existing sink and window placement in order to keep the island free of plumbing and appliances to preserve a clean flow. We could not be more thrilled with the end result!
