Buddha Mind
Welcome to Buddha Mind — your space for daily mindfulness, inspiration, and the timeless wisdom of the Buddha.
The Buddha once said, “The mind creates suffering.” It’s not the world or others that trouble us, but the way we think about them.
Clinging and resistance keep us trapped.
But when the mind sees clearly, it becomes our ally, not our enemy.
Train the mind, and peace follows—like a shadow that never leaves your side.

Verse 1. Suffering Follows The Evil-Doer
Mind precedes all knowables,
mind’s their chief, mind-made are they.
If with a corrupted mind
one should either speak or act
dukkha follows caused by that,
as does the wheel the ox’s hoof.
Explanation: The mind is the source of everything we experience. Every action and word begins first as a thought. The mind leads, and the world we live in is shaped by it.
When the mind is impure—filled with anger, greed, or ignorance—our speech and actions will reflect that impurity. As a result, suffering (dukkha) naturally follows. It’s not a punishment, but the natural outcome of unwholesome thinking.
Just like a cart wheel unavoidably follows the ox’s hoof, the results of our negative thoughts and deeds follow us wherever we go. In essence, we carry our own happiness or suffering within the state of our mind.

You are not your thoughts. 🌿 The Buddha once said, “The mind is everything. What you think, you become.” But here lies the truth — thoughts come and go like clouds in the sky. They are not who you truly are. When you believe every thought, you suffer. But when you observe them with mindfulness, you find peace and freedom. Remember, you are the awareness behind your thoughts — calm, vast, and unshaken.
