EID MUBARAK TO ALL WHO CELEBRATE.

02/15/2024

O Children of Adam! Let not Satan tempt you, as he caused your parents to go forth from the Garden, stripping them of their raiment to show them their nakedness. Surely he sees you—he and his tribe—whence you see them not. We have indeed made the satans the friends of those who do not believe.

During slavery, Hz. Lokman had a rich and kind-hearted master. But despite this, there were no weaknesses. One of them was his impatience to some of life's troubles and difficulties and the weakness of his state of consent. Even in the simple difficulties and troubles he faced, he immediately tried to complain and whine. Hz. Lokman was uncomfortable with his situation; but he was also afraid to openly criticize him and give him advice, worried that his feelings could be hurt and his personality could be broken. He was looking for a suitable opportunity and looking for a wise way to free him from this mistake without hurting his feelings and in an indirect way. Until one day, one of his master's friends sent him a melon as a gift. Day by day Hz. His master, who is more aware of Lokman's virtues, Hz. He preferred Lokman to himself and offered him the melon. He asks for a knife and chops the melon into slices and bites with his own hands. He fed Lokman; Hz. Lokman, on the other hand, was eating the bites given to his mouth with a great appetite, satisfaction and smiling face. His master reserved only the last bite of the melon for himself and put it in his mouth to eat. And what can he see, melon is bitter like poison! In a great astonishment, Hz. Looking at Lokman, "How did you eat such a bitter melon with such appetite and satisfaction, and you did not make a snap, you did not complain!

Hz., who is disturbed by his master's weakness and his complaint and ingratition against the truth in the difficulties of life. Lokman understood that he had the most appropriate opportunity to take him out of this mistake, and with appropriate language and cautious attitude, he called out to him: “Sir, of course I sensed and disturbed how bitter this melon was. But would it be nice for me to complain about someone like you, whom I ate their sweet bites for years, whose goodness and bestowal I have received a bitter bite, would it be worthy of me?

Hearing this, his master learned his lesson from this behavior full of wisdom and perceptiveness and, knowing his own weakness and fault, started to correct himself in order to consent and be patient with difficulties and troubles. (Mesnevi -Mevlana-, 3rd notebook, p.38)
