Press release: Texas Public Safety and Investigations

On Thursday, April 7th 2022 Corporal Marc Alloy witnessed three subjects behaving suspiciously and was alerted that they were in possession of stolen property. He met them at the door of a retail store and confronted them where they began to walk away. Attempting to use de-escalation techniques, officer presence , and verbal direction he tried to stop the crime in progress. His verbal commands were disregarded and the subjects entered a vehicle then drove the vehicle directly at Corporal Alloy as he tried to back away to safety. Corporal Alloy was forced to jump upward to avoid being ran over, landing on the hood of the vehicle as the subjects continued to drive aggressively trying to throw him off. Corporal Alloy fired one round from his duty weapon into the tire of the vehicle attempting to disable it which had little affect. The driver continued to swerve and drive aggressively. Witnesses report the driver intentionally struck a curb in an effort to throw Corporal Alloy off of the vehicle. Corporal Alloy was thrown into building corner causing severe traumatic injuries. He is currently hospitalized and recovering from surgery. The Austin Police Department is currently pursuing the suspects and when captured, they will be charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on a security officer and unlawful possession of a firearm.

A firearm, drug paraphernalia, and suspected stolen merchandise were recovered in the vehicle. Please keep Corporal Alloy in your prayers.
