⏳ Do breast implants really need to be replaced every 10 years?

It's one of the most common misconceptions about breast implants, and the answer is no.

Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Joseph Kelling explains that breast implants are not lifetime devices, but they also don't need to be replaced on a set timeline simply because a certain number of years has passed.

Instead, the FDA recommends routine implant monitoring with ultrasound or MRI beginning 5 years after surgery and every 3 years after that. If your implants aren't causing problems, replacement surgery often isn't necessary.

The best approach is to follow up regularly and know what to watch for over time.
