🪦Today we gather to mourn the slow, tragic, completely preventable (if gravity and friction simply didn’t exist) death of my beloved adventure shoes. Nearly 10 years together… TEN. These warriors have summited the Austrian Alps, strolled the seashores of Hawaii, and bravely endured everything from airport sprints to questionable trail decisions. They have seen things. They have carried me through things. And now… their tread is so worn down that continuing to wear them would be less “adventure” and more “liability claim.” It’s not that they can’t go on—it’s that society says they shouldn’t.

In honor of their legacy, I have done the only reasonable thing: immediately repurchased the exact same shoe. Different color, newer model, slightly less personality (and frankly, I don’t trust it yet), but we move forward. Because when you find a shoe this faithful, this resilient, this borderline immortal—you don’t switch brands, you double down. Pour one glass of Gatorade out (preferably not on your shoes), and join me in celebrating a decade of loyalty. They didn’t just last… they endured. 🫡 thank you to and for 10 years of unbeatable durability.

I spent 4 summers at and I am so grateful for the Lord’s kindness in allowing that opportunity! This weekend alumni gathered to celebrate 45 years of T Bar M camps and it was an absolute BLAST!

It was at T Bar M that I met my friend Alice. At the time she was an international student at UCLA. (she’s from Singapore!) Several years later the Lord still uses my friendship with Alice to encourage me.
