Built in 1920, the Dallas Power & Light East Substation was constructed to help distribute electricity to a rapidly growing Dallas. Designed in the Georgian Revival style, its elegant brick façade and classical details have made it one of Deep Ellum's most recognizable historic buildings.

Today, the former substation has been thoughtfully repurposed as an art gallery, blending Dallas history with the neighborhood's thriving creative spirit. Stop by, take in the architecture, and don't forget to snap a picture!

The Deep Vellum Music & Literature Festival takes over Deep Ellum, Dallas July 10–12! A 3-day literary takeover bringing together writers, translators, musicians, poets, and artists from Texas and around the world.

Deep Ellum transforms into a multi-venue festival experience, with programming flowing through spaces like Ruins, Undermain Theatre, Deep Ellum Art Co.,Poets, Sons of Hermann Hall, and more.

Expect live readings, conversations, performances, and cross-disciplinary collaborations that turn the neighborhood into a living, breathing celebration of storytelling from day to night.

Featuring headliners including Hanif Abdurraqib, Jamila Woods, Lawrence Burney, and DAMOYEE, the festival brings together some of today’s most powerful voices in literature and music.

As featured by the Dallas Observer, Amor y Queso is back in Deep Ellum with a fresh new concept.

The beloved Main Street shop has reopened as a neighborhood-style bodega, offering much more than its signature handcrafted cheese boards. Guests can now enjoy made-to-order coffee, paninis, grab-and-go bites, and browse shelves stocked with locally made snacks, sweets, seasonings, gifts, and other Texas-made products.

The reimagined space was designed to bring people together while showcasing local makers and filling the neighborhood's grab-and-go needs. Whether you're stopping in for lunch, building the perfect charcuterie board, or discovering unique local finds, there's plenty to explore.
