here’s a sneak peek into the next 3 weeks of speech 🤩

we won’t do all of these, and there are a few other ideas I might bring out 🤪

a five senses theme is new to me and I’m excited to try it this year! resources on TpT and how to do some of these ideas coming soon 🥰👀👃🏻👂🏻👅👆🏻

just some thoughts as we go into this next week, mostly because I need to learn it myself 🫠

so many of us suffer with imposter syndrome but at the end of the day we are in the role we are for a reason

our field grows and changes what feels like everyday, and it is BROAD, but everyone is always learning and growing not just you and not in just our field

you know what you know and more than you feel like you know

we research and listen to personal experiences and study and do lots of trial and error

the suggestions and feedback and input you give to those around you is not just a feeling you have even when it seems like that

what you know is based on so much learning and sometimes unlearning/relearning as things change

& most importantly your job description involves teamwork but not every member of a team has to like each other, but you do have to do what’s best for you & the clients you serve 💖

Idk about you, but I am a BIG picture kind of thinker! 😬

I see all the potential of a kid, and all the things that can be done to facilitate them becoming an independent communicator, but then I PANIC! 🤯

But…it’s okay to take a step back and look at what step can be taken next. Especially if you’re at a new campus, or working with new kids and families, coming in and correcting the adults or trying to get kids to follow your agenda immediately is not the way to go ‼️

What’s most important is building a relationship with those around you, the child’s communication partners and most importantly the sweet kids! 🥰
Trust has to be built. It takes time to learn how each classroom and family works, and how you can best support them NOW and how to make steps forward. Despite others or your own expectations, authentic teamwork and facilitating authentic communication takes TIME. So take a breath, enjoy the moment, look towards just the next step, and have FUN 💖🫶🏻
