We’re honored to highlight our next Carl Smith Award nominee, Jesus Barajas, nominated by our Waxahachie High School Campus Coordinator, Stephanie Roye! 💚

Jesus shows up each week with a smile, a plan, and a genuine desire to help his students succeed. Whether mentoring one student or two, he creates intentional space for each of them to feel seen, heard, and supported.

He goes above and beyond when it comes to their future, spending hours researching, helping with college applications, preparing for the ACT/SAT and providing resources to help his students grow academically and personally!

Jesus has also taken a special interest in helping one of his students pursue his passion for becoming a culinary chef, working alongside him to relaunch the BBQ club and bring that vision to life.

His dedication, initiative, and belief in his students are helping turn goals into real opportunities and his impact will be felt for years to come.
