The Haley Group
THG’s number one goal is to find the perfect home for their clients and to always be available for them through all stages of the home buying/selling process.
As conversations around this proposed development continue, many residents are voicing concerns about the potential impact on everyday life in the neighborhood.
For Kristy, those concerns center around school safety, increased traffic, construction activity, and how these changes could affect children and families who live nearby.
Whether people agree or disagree, these discussions highlight how development decisions often extend far beyond the buildings themselves.
They shape how communities function day to day.
Foundation repairs are one of those things homeowners never want to deal with.
The good news? There are a few simple things you can do to help prevent problems before they start.
Maintaining consistent moisture levels, checking for warning signs around your home's perimeter, and making sure water is draining away from the foundation can make a big difference over time.
A little maintenance now is often much easier — and much less expensive — than major repairs later.
After sharing some of our favorite Dallas mom resources, so many people asked for more.
These are a few that have been especially helpful for our family over the years.
Whether it's private school admissions support, educational assessments, tutoring, test prep, or extra help in a specific subject, having the right team around your child can make such a difference.
Sometimes the hardest part is simply knowing where to start.
For many Preston Hollow families, this conversation isn't just about development.
It's about safety.
In this part of our series, Kristy Macktinger shares her family's personal experience navigating the Preston Royal intersection and why traffic concerns have become such an important part of the broader discussion surrounding the proposed zoning application.
As Dallas continues to grow, these conversations become increasingly complex. How do we balance thoughtful development with the realities of existing infrastructure, walkability, and neighborhood safety?
No matter where you stand on the proposal itself, understanding the perspectives of community members is an important part of the conversation.
What factors do you think should carry the most weight when evaluating projects like this?

If you've lived in Dallas for a while, Highland Park Village probably looks very different in your memories.
Before Hermès, Dior, and luxury storefronts dominated the Village, there were places like Scoop, Tom Thumb, Sanger-Harris, and Patrizio.
The interesting thing is that while the names and tenants have changed over the years, Highland Park Village has always remained an important part of Dallas culture.
The stores evolved.
The luxury identity stayed.
What do you miss most?
If you've driven through Preston Hollow recently, you've probably seen the signs about Preston Royal and wondered what's actually going on.
We're sitting down with Preston Hollow mom of four, Kristy Macktinger, to break down the proposed zoning changes, what spot zoning means, and why so many neighbors are paying close attention to this development proposal.
Whether you live in Preston Hollow or somewhere else in Dallas, this conversation is bigger than one intersection.
This is Part 1 of our series unpacking what's being proposed and why residents believe it's important for Dallas homeowners to understand.
What questions do you have about the Preston Royal proposal?
Getting your house ready to sell?
Before you spend money on major updates, start here.
Fresh paint. Working light bulbs. Clear countertops. Better curb appeal.
These are the little things buyers notice immediately, even if they can't always explain why.
The homes that show best aren't always the most updated. They're the ones that feel clean, cared for, and move-in ready.
Which one of these do you think homeowners overlook the most?
Moving to Dallas with kids?
These are three activities that made a huge difference for our family.
From swim lessons that build life-saving skills, to bike lessons that boost confidence, to programs that help kids find their people, these are the kinds of activities that help Dallas start feeling like home.
The truth is, when families relocate, they're not just looking for a house. They're looking for community.
Dallas has so many great options, but these are three that worked really well for us.
Dallas moms: what would you add to the list?
Carbon monoxide is called the silent killer for a reason.
You can't see it. You can't smell it. You can't taste it.
And while most homeowners remember to check their smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors are often overlooked.
The scary part? Common household items like furnaces, fireplaces, gas water heaters, gas stoves, generators, and even cars left running in a garage can all create carbon monoxide if something isn't venting properly.
Take 5 minutes today and make sure your detectors are installed, working, and up to date.
This is one of the simplest home safety checks you can make.
Most people look at home prices to figure out where an area is headed.
We look at who's signing leases.
When luxury retailers, national brands, and destination restaurants start clustering in one place, they're making a bet on future growth.
That's exactly what's happening at Legacy West.
Brands that once felt firmly rooted in Dallas proper are expanding north, and restaurants are following right behind them.
Retailers spend millions studying demographics, income trends, and population growth before they make these decisions.
And right now, they're betting heavily on North Dallas.
Do you think Legacy West is becoming the new center of gravity for North Dallas?
