For the 2023 Kips Bay Dallas Show House, the vision took shape as The Garden Arrival. Centered around a sculptural focal point, a structured hedge creates a sense of enclosure, allowing the piece to be experienced from multiple vantage points. Layered planting and gathering spaces extend that moment outward, shaping a sequence that is both immersive and composed.
Each decision was carefully calibrated to create a landscape that is intentional, cohesive, and fully resolved, reflecting how we shape our work at Melissa Gerstle Design.
The success of a landscape is rarely defined by a single gesture; it’s built through a series of decisions that guide how the space is lived in.
At The Lakeside Retreat, those decisions shape a rhythm of gathering, retreat, and quiet moments throughout the garden. Each element works in relation to the next, creating a space that is composed, intuitive, and entirely at ease.
