Mom. Businesswoman. Candidate for Congress against Marjorie Taylor Greene. #UnitedWeCan

12 months ago, I heard a call to action as Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene became my representative. I asked myself, how could I stand by and be served by someone who did not reflect my values. I knew that if I asked that question, so did so many others. I also knew that divisive politics and hate speech is not democracy.

I decided to answer the call to action to fight against hate and to bring people together. I decided to run against the Congresswoman and focus on the social and political issues that concern the citizens of the District.

As I campaigned, I met a diverse group of individuals who had one theme which was to unify the district and focus on the concerns of daily life; jobs, safety, education and the economy.
If I listened to the narrative of hate speech, I would have never believed there were like-minded individuals of any party that have the same belief systems throughout the 12 counties.

They, like I, want the same things; a great education for our kids, a strong economy to feed and home our families and create a community where we feel safe and honor our diversity.

As a resident of Paulding County, I learned the lack of resources was surmountable. As I campaigned, I found myself being pulled time and again to "home”. I want my level of service to be closer to home. To my family, American Legion, to the counselor who asked for my service in the schools and much more.

Therefore, I have decided to end my campaign for Congress. It has been a learning experience and I am grateful for all the support. I was proud to be in the race with three other great Democratic Candidates to fight for democracy in the 14th District however I feel as I end my candidacy, I am proud to support the best candidate, Commissioner-Ward Two Wendy Davis.

Wendy Davis has a track record of building a strong Democratic foundation in one of the hardest Congressional Districts in Georgia. From her work with the local Democratic parties to her progressive work in building community in Rome, Ga she is the person I stand by and will receive my vote in the Democratic primary.
