So to round out mental health awareness month I’m going to do something I’ve wanted to since I was diagnosed in 2020 which is to publicly announce:

What does this mean? I have a monkeys paw super power. It can be amazing and equally destructive but through therapy and the love of my friends and family I have my hand on mostly the wheel. It is a constant process that is always right there and just like race and gender it’s not my choice. Unlike those, you can’t see it and have no idea what I’m going through unless I do something that makes people send me messages like “are you okay?” Today, I am okay thank you. I just had a moment in time where mania got a W and if I said anything that seemed way out of character it probably was and your compassion and understanding are appreciated.
