We don’t know your name, and we may never know exactly what happened to you. But what we do know is that something unthinkably tragic occurred. My heart aches for your family because you were a child of God, and now, I believe He has wrapped His arms around you as you step through the gates of heaven.

You were somebody's daughter, someone's world, and your life was stolen from you and from those who cherished you. No one deserves what happened to you, no matter the circumstances. It is a loss beyond words, and it leaves a wound that cannot easily heal.

I pray that we, as a community, as parents, take this heartbreaking moment and turn it into something we can teach our children. When they ask what happened, let it be a moment to remind them to always speak up, to always look out for one another. Sometimes, simply telling someone when something feels wrong can be the difference between life and death.

To the parents of this young lady, there are no words strong enough to offer the comfort you need. The pain you’re feeling is unimaginable. I can only pray that God carries you through this darkness, and that somehow, in time, you find the strength to navigate the road ahead. May He give you the peace and comfort that only He can provide.
