Starting October 1st, there are 395 new diagnosis codes, 25 deletions and 13 revisions.

One of the most significant changes is the coding of Parkinson Disease. They have added 5 new codes. These 5 new Parkinson diagnosis codes have also been added to the SLP component for PDPM as a SLP related comorbidity. The SLP related comorbidities list also extended to several other conditions. (G11.6, G23.3,G31.80, G31.86, G37.81 and G40+ codes). 18 new codes were added to the SLP component and listed in the PDPM mapping tool for 2024!

This will generate an increase in the PDPM score for SLP (review for IPA)
The coding of all Parkinson diagnosed residents will need to be updated due to obsolete coding
The PDPM mapping tool will once again need to be updated.
