I drove a couple of photographers out to Coral Pink Sands State Park right before sunset. This park is due west of Kanab, Utah. It was hard to find a place to catch the last part of the sun on the sand without dozens of high-beam headlights on dune buggies. If you are an explorer of the USA's nature, then you need to see the oddities of White Pocket. It's a small area of land in southern Utah near Kanab, UT. You need a four-wheel vehicle and a trained guide to get there across BLM (Bureau of Land Management) and private land to reach the 300+ acre area. Once you leave the pavement, its 2 hour bumpy ride. What you will see and experience is a marvel of Earth's turbulent crust. We arrived just in time for a soon-approaching rare rainstorm, as the sun was not beating down on the land, which is what you see 98% of the time. So the colors are completely different when the sun is not there, as you will see in the attached link. t.ly/tTFoU. I saw it as a blessing, as something rare to capture.
