About Shane and Lesson Policies

Shane started playing guitar at the age of 12 after being introduced to the music of Van Halen. Amazed and totally mesmerized by the sounds Eddie Van Halen conjured from his guitar, Shane began teaching himself how to play by dropping the needle on classic rock records… long before the advent of the internet and youtube. It was a long hard road but well worth it. Self-taught and learning by ear helped him to forge a voice all his own and birthed a passion for music and all things guitar related. By the age of 15, Shane was traveling and gigging every weekend with his band. And in a few years, he was touring the country full-time as a professional musician.

Growing up without a TV or the current day distractions of the internet, Shane had the time to learn and hone his skills as a guitarist versatile in many genres of music.

His dedication, hard work, & positive attitude have landed him many opportunities over the years, both in session work and in live support. Shane has played with a ton of musicians, some of the more notable: Joel Kosche(Collective Soul), Louie Weaver(Petra), Jimi Bennett(Sacred Fire, King James). He has received accolades from famous musicians he’s had the opportunity to work with; One of his favorite being from Petra drummer, Louie Weaver, who said, “Shane is the most talented, and the best guitarist I’ve ever had the opportunity to work with.” Famous rock guitarist, Reb Beach(Winger, Whitesnake, Dokken) exclaimed, “You’re totally awesome dude! See you at the top!!”.

In recent years, Shane was the guitarist for country/southern rock artist Angie Lynn Carter. You can hear him on her album, “Love You That Way” released in 2017.

You might even have seen Shane playing with Atlanta area cover band/trio Used Groove. It was a blast “stretching out” with the guys playing classic rock favorites.

Fast forward to today, Shane is teaching guitar and working with his wife, Pamela, at Rock’n Designs, which keeps him extremely busy.

Lesson Policies

Schedule

I offer lessons from my home studio Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday every week. My goal is to lock the student into a regular day and time so that it’s easy for both of us to remember. Once we have agreed on a scheduled lesson time it will remain yours until otherwise requested. Lesson times are scheduled back to back so please be early to maximize your time and not cut into the next student’s time.

Rates and Payment Options

Monthly rates are $100 per month for four half-hour lessons at one per week. Hourly lessons are $200 per month for four one-hour sessions at one per week.

Payment is due the first of every month. To begin, a one-month deposit is required and will be credited towards the last month of lessons upon discontinuation of lessons. If you begin in the middle of the month, the remainder of that month will be pro-rated

Payment methods accepted are cash, cash app, and venmo

Lesson Cancelation Policy

Cancellation of a lesson must be made AT LEAST 24 hours prior to the scheduled lesson time in order to receive a make-up lesson. This includes leaving messages via phone or email.

“No shows” or failure to notify me within 24 hours is considered a forfeited lesson.

If you know of dates ahead of time where you/your child cannot make a lesson, please notify me when booking/paying for your lessons.

There are NO refunds on unused or canceled lessons.

Makeup Lessons

Any lessons canceled at least 24 hours ahead of the scheduled lesson will receive a make-up lesson at a time convenient to both the teacher and the student. This makeup lesson will not be skipped over or added to the end of the next month of lessons.

Discontinuation of Lessons

One-month notice is required for discontinuation of lessons. The deposit month credit that was required at the beginning will be used to pay for the final month of lessons.
