Being an Independent Musician means I do all the work. I submit to playlists daily to get our music out to listeners. And as you'd figure the music has its own way of speaking as to what gets consumed. It surprises me a lot just like it does those music executives experts you say "this one will be the one" on this album, but you never know until the actual audience speaks. Just like Dylan says people trying too hard to sound important, or too hard to make slick cute stuff are not making the real stuff, kind of like every country song has to have Whiskey in it, that's not really what speaks true. Well I track the numbers of the "Curators" which are the folks these days that control audience. Surprisingly my Texas History work "Don Pedro". A work about a historical Texas Character from the late 1800's, a Healer, a true story, my hurricane so speak has tracked high. Well it has not gained to most streams and listens but what list it does top is the acceptance percentage from playlist submissions. This song has been added to 32% of the playlists it has been submitted to. You know it took Dylan 50 years before he had a number one billboard song. Then what was it a 15 minute Americana classic about the Assassination of Kennedy called "Murder Most Foul". I'm pretty Proud of Don Pedro", a 5:15 rendition well longer than radio play, as Texas was too when it was recorded on the ghost town church in Terlingua Ghost Town Texas. I had a shrine set up with a picture and candles when it was recorded. At the last note ringing note of the song the Desert Texas wind reared up and range the church bell right on cue, So Texas was approving also.
