At the Harris County Animal Shelter (Houston, TX), Paris is terrified. Whenever anyone goes by her shelter cage, she cringes with fear; nothing familiar remains in her life – no more familiar smells, no more familiar humans – no more of anything that once made her feel safe and loved.

Her family was moving, and no plans were made to include Paris. She was told to sit; she obeyed and then they walked away. After being in a house with her family, she thought she would be with them forever. Suddenly she is an overcrowded environment with strangers.

Paris is 4 years old, weighs 56 pounds, tested negative for heartworms. Her ID .
