The verdict is in, and the rolled buttercream beats the royal icing. I can see this combination becoming very popular.

Tonight's experiment was rolled buttercream sugar cookies. I wanted to have another option for my sugar cookies besides royal icing. These were painted with food coloring but I look forward to trying different techniques. The buttercream has a soft bite but is firm enough to decorate. It's also kid approved!
