Join the Transgender Education Network of Texas and the Resource Center for an exclusive screening of Heightened Scrutiny! The film will be followed by a talkback with leaders shaping the trans policy landscape in Texas: State Representative Jessica Gonzalez, TENT's Executive Director Emmett Schelling, and moderated by the Resource Center's Rachel Hill.

IF you could pass on the information about the meeting May 18th to people I would appreciate it.

We are having a meeting and forming a group to discuss the needs of transgender people and actions we can take. All LGBTQIA+ people and allies are welcome. This is also a meeting to socialize and connect. We need to support each other. We will have sandwiches, chips and water at the meeting. This is an inaugural meeting for the group which is called Alliance Trans Dallas. In the future we plan on educational (including providing resources) and social gatherings.

We will meet on May 18th from 6pm to 9pm at Grace UMC, 4105 Junius St, Dallas, TX 75246. This is a safe space.

We will provide a list of issues for everyone to mark their priorities and use these list to determine priorities for the group. Some of the issues are:
HRT
Electrolysis/Laser
Housing
Employment
Legislative bills and issues
Makeup
Safety for s*x workers
Food
Self defense
Surgeries
Name change
Counseling
Health insurance
Clothing
Safe spaces for practicing religion
Non-surgical procedures for gender affirming care
