‼️Urgent Closure Update for Mansfield ISD ‼️

Out of an abundance of caution, Mansfield ISD will remain closed today, Thursday, Jan. 29. As the situation developed in the early morning hours, our ability to transport students safely has changed. We are unable to get our buses safely out of the transportation facility.

We understand how frustrating and disruptive this is for families and staff, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience this causes. The physical safety of our students and employees is always our top consideration when making weather decisions.

Mansfield ISD will remain closed tomorrow, Jan. 28, due to the thick layer of ice remaining on roads, parking lots, and walkways throughout the district. Temperatures are expected to fall well below freezing again overnight, making morning travel likely unsafe. The safety of our students and staff is always our highest priority when weighing these decisions.

The National Weather Service is forecasting warmer temperatures and more sunshine on Wednesday; therefore, we will make a decision tomorrow regarding Wednesday’s after-school activities and will share an update as soon as possible.

We know these disruptions can be challenging for families, and we appreciate your patience and understanding. We hope to welcome our students and staff back to school soon when conditions improve. Please stay home, stay warm, and stay safe.
