International selling requires more than a great product.
It requires understanding HOW different cultures communicate, build trust, negotiate, and make buying decisions.
This June, I’ll be coaching Egyptian businesses preparing to travel to New York City for the Summer Fancy Food Show on:
“Selling to American Buyers.”
What makes this work meaningful to me is that these businesses are ALREADY experts at what they do.
Many have incredible products, deep manufacturing knowledge, strong sales and export skills, and rich cultural traditions behind their brands.
The challenge usually is NOT the quality of the product.
The challenge is learning how to position, communicate, pitch, and SELL within the expectations of the American retail market.
Small differences matter:
→ how Americans present value
→ how buyers expect information structured
→ packaging communication
→ confidence and pacing during pitches
→ understanding retail expectations and objections
→ simplifying messaging so it lands quickly
A product can be exceptional and still struggle commercially if the communication doesn’t translate culturally.
I’m honored to partner with and the to support founders preparing for this opportunity.
These businesses are bringing generations of expertise, flavor, craftsmanship, and innovation to the U.S. market — and I’m excited to help them present that value with clarity and confidence at the Fancy Food Show in NYC this June.
One of the biggest mistakes growing businesses make (across every industry) is overpromising in order to win the opportunity.
Businesses get excited about the DREAM client… the HUGE purchase order… the massive opportunity…
Growth is about accepting orders that SCALE with your business.
Sometimes the smartest thing a business can do is say:
“We’re not ready for that volume yet… but we CAN successfully fulfill this smaller order first.”
That level of honesty can actually BUILD trust.
Because trust is not created through hype.
It’s created through transparency, planning, communication, and consistently delivering on what you promised.
⚠️ A huge order you cannot properly execute can cost you the client forever.
In this conversation with from , we talk about trust, transparency, forecasting, and the systems businesses need as they scale… and why it requires a SCALE strategy.

Feeling burnt out and entering a “slump” in your business? I’ve been there — running a business means everything needs your attention.
What should you focus on as you SCALE?
I find that owners who suddenly struggle with profit, revenue, or finding clients have accidentally forgotten the variables that created their success to begin with — and then IGNORED them.
We all get blind spots. In fact, it happens multiple times throughout our lives depending on the season. It’s happened to me too!
I want to share a tool to help you re-focus, reduce stress, and gain clarity again.
I earned my Master’s in Economics at USC, where we focused on simplifying complex problems with simple formulas to study how variables influence the final equation.
This is a formula you will feel like you already know, but we can use it to identify variables you can control and prioritize.
YOUR PROFIT FORMULA:
PROFIT = REVENUE - COSTS
I’ll break down the process I use with my 1:1 clients in more detail on the START to SOLD blog 👉https://starttosold.net/post/small-business-owners-prioritize-growth-profit-formula/
Business gets a whole lot less stressful when you know what variables are driving success — and how to use them.

I bought my first business at 30.
Not because I had a perfect plan.
Not because I felt confident.
But because my life had just fallen apart.
After a divorce I didn’t see coming, I had no house, no car, no job — and no clear direction. What I did have was a conversation at a party with someone looking to sell his packaging company.
The conversation started out of curiosity.
It felt like a glimpse of what could happen in my life.
It also felt impossible.
What if I failed?
What if I wasn’t capable?
Instead of overthinking it, I tested it. I went to a trade show. I pitched. I networked. I closed a $25K order.
That wasn’t just revenue. It was proof.
What changed my life wasn’t luck. It was seeking “alignment” with someone else.
I wasn’t looking for my “solution” — I was looking to understand and connect with someone.
I had genuine curiosity. I asked questions.
I built trust by listening and understanding his pain points.
That relationship became a “test” to sell my business → mentorship → partnership → and a completely new career.
If you’re in a hard season or uncertain transition, don’t underestimate the next aligned conversation.
PEOPLE…. People are the greatest resources. Opportunities are often hidden inside relationships — not perfectly mapped strategies.
Seek alignment. Create win-wins…. Repeating for emphasis… wins for other people.
That’s how we grow from START to SOLD.

Growth rarely slows because you lack ambition. It slows because you lack clarity.
→ Clarity on why your customers buy
→ Clarity on how to communicate your difference
→ Clarity on what to prioritize next
That’s where real coaching matters.
A true coach is a partner who:
• Has built and sold, hired and fired… done the “thing”
• Can challenge your thinking and encourage you
• Holds your stress without judgment
• Helps you make confident decisions that move the needle
If you need a place to think clearly and move strategically…
If you’re ready to wrestle forward and grow with intention, let’s talk.
