It’s been a while since I gave y’all a skin update so here it is! It’s been a long road. I know I’m a hair expert but if you’re frustrated with your skin, I do have some tips.
🧪Find an esthetician that will EDUCATE you. If your esthetician loves on your skin and sends you on your way, they are doing you a disservice. Use beauty industry professionals with the heart of a teacher.
🧪 You NEED pharmaceutical-grade products. Say goodbye to Target, Sephora, etc. I know that as millennials we love a good packaging moment but these ingredients are typically crap. I spend way less money sticking to the routine recommended to me by and get way better results.
🧪Change your diet. Specifically- cut out dairy. My hair, skin and gut health is a million times better since going vegan three years ago.
🧪BE CONSISTENT. It takes time and it’s not easy.
🧪Give up the makeup. I know the feeling when you have acne and your skin is bare. You feel naked, like it’s all anyone can see. But the more you keep your skin clean, the quicker it can heal. It’s a vicious cycle.
Two last thoughts while I have skin on my mind💭
Can we please normalize normal skin? It’s normal to have a blemish, freckles, moles, pores, etc. In an Instagram world I think we forget what it’s like to be human.
Lastly, I want to HIGHLY recommend my friend Amy if you are looking for an esthetician. She will heal your skin and your soul✨ She’s the type of woman will add value to your life. I trust her with my whole face🧖🏻♀️
