Happy Black History Month!

This month we will be recognizing mentors, leaders and trailblazers throughout our history. Did you know that Charles Houston was one of Thurgood Marshall's mentors. Houston is actually well known for mentoring a generation of black lawyers. Marshall was one of his most successful mentees, going on to become the first black US Supreme Court Justice.

This month we will be recognizing mentors, leaders and trailblazers throughout our history. Did you know that Sidney Poitier was one of Denzel Washington's mentors. He has shared on several occasions that the two were great friends but more than that, Sidney was a mentor. They met backstage at a play and Denzel remembers Sidney telling him "you know, you're good".

"For Sidney Poitier to say to some 20-year-old, 'Hey, you're good,' that's all I needed to hear," he said. "That kept me going. If he thinks I am, then maybe I got something."
