I would probably still be waiting for "someday" if I hadn't been pushed by a good friend and mentor who called me out.

I HATE the clickbait articles and financial myths that derail people from creating and following a financial plan customized for them.

The lies:
- You have to invest in real estate if you're a savvy investor.
- Paying rent is throwing your money away.
- Investing is only for rich people
- Keeping a balance on your credit cards helps you have good credit
- I don't need to work with a financial planner until I make more money
- Once you graduate, you need to refinance your student loans

You are a unique person. Every person has a unique financial situation based on their past finances, current income, and future goals, among other things.

Clickbait articles are selling you on money myths and one-size-fits-all solutions that don't work for everyone. If you want to get on a path for the financial future you want, work with a Certified Financial Planner.

Who needs this reminder today?

Things don't always go as planned—including in our finances.

Financial mistakes happen.

Unexpected financial obstacles pop up.

Just because the first plan doesn't work doesn't mean you give up and do nothing.

Find another way.

Job loss? Pound the pavement to find a replacement (even if it's temporary until you find something better.)

Car repairs steal from your down payment fund? Start saving again and set up an emergency fund for those future unexpected expenses.

Grocery budget and daycare costs skyrocketing? Start a side hustle to have a little extra.

Be relentless in working toward your financial goals. Be willing to change your plan as needed.
