BECOME A SUCCESSFUL TEACHER OF ACADEMIC WRITING AND CRITICAL THINKING FOR ALL YOUR STUDENTS!
📚 EXPOSITORY/INFORMATIONAL WRITING ACROSS-THE-CURRICULUM 5-PART WEBINAR SERIES
⏰ Deadline to Register: March 17
✅ Expository and informational writing is the academic writing all students need to know and to apply in all grades and all subject areas. Using the Jane Schaffer Writing Program®, this training opportunity teaches English language arts and reading teachers how to build the foundation of expository writing for all students. And content area teachers will learn how to apply the JSWP method in their classrooms when asking students to write short or long responses to demonstrate their knowledge of the content being taught.
âś… Learn techniques of summarization, science lab reports, and writing expository and informational texts for both non text-based and text-based writing. Writing prompts and sample paragraphs are included for the core subjects, as well as career and technology, fine arts, physical education, religious studies, and world languages. Learn the JSWP terminology, color-coding, and structure that successfully takes young writers through the writing process and makes incorporating writing into content areas easier.

Live, after-school sessions designed specifically for Texas STAAR® writing expectations.
With STAAR® testing just around the corner, Dr. Deborah E. Louis wants JSWP® teachers to know one thing: we’re in this together.
With 36 years of experience teaching in Texas—and firsthand experience with every major state assessment from TABS to STAAR—Dr. Louis understands both the pressure teachers face and the strategies students need to succeed.
To support our JSWP® clients during this critical testing window, Dr. Louis will present nine complimentary, after-school webinars for Middle School and High School teachers.
Each 75-minute webinar will focus on a STAAR released test and provide practical strategies teachers can use immediately to guide students through the thinking and writing process for both SCRs and ECRs.
In past district webinars, many teachers implemented these lessons the very next day—with reported increases in student confidence, skills, and scores.
Note: These sessions are designed for existing JSWP® clients. Dr. Louis will not review JSWP® terminology, colors, chunks, or ratios.
