Abena Opoku, LCSW, is the Founder and Executive Director of The FRESH Project (Finding Resources Everywhere and Spreading Hope), a Houston-based nonprofit dedicated to serving individuals experiencing homelessness. For more than six years, FRESH has provided weekly meals, hygiene support, job search assistance, and most importantly, giving hope to those often overlooked. Abena is also a licensed therapist with a private practice, where she walks alongside individuals and families in their healing journey. Her work is rooted in her faith and the belief that every opportunity to serve is a gift from God, to steward with love and compassion. Whether on the streets with her outreach team or in a therapy session, Abena’s heart is to meet people where they are and help them take steps toward dignity, stability, and wholeness.
