We just had to show off this handsome boy!

Bones the Bengal came in for his groom this week and did such a wonderful job. While he was a little unsure about all the pampering at first, he quickly showed us what a sweet and good boy he is. 💙

And can we talk about how stunning he is? Those gorgeous Bengal markings are absolutely breathtaking! Bones is truly a beautiful example of the Bengal breed and definitely turned a few heads while he was here.

Thank you, Bones, for spending the day with us and letting us spoil you a little. We couldn’t resist sharing this handsome face with everyone!

We are proud to work alongside wonderful rescue partners like Cat Matchers and other local non-profits to help cats in need. While The Cat Connection is a cat-only retail store, boarding, and grooming center and does not directly take in owner surrenders, we are honored to support rescue efforts by providing our instore adoption room to help homeless cats in our community.

Today marks the first day of North Texas Gives to Animals and we are so excited to be part of this amazing community event running now through May 31st!

North Texas Gives to Animals returns for its third year, and every donation helps local rescues like Cat Matchers continue saving lives.

Dallas Cat Rescue, dba Cat Matchers, is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to reducing the number of homeless cats through rescue, spay/neuter efforts, fostering, and finding loving forever homes. Our goal is to help turn disposable animals into lifelong companions.

Every dollar donated helps provide:
🐱 Veterinary care and medications
🐱 Food and supplies for foster cats and kittens
🐱 Support for pet owners needing veterinary assistance
🐱 Cleaning supplies, habitat care items, and adoption event necessities

Kitten season is here, and the need is greater than ever. Your support truly makes a difference for cats waiting for safety, healing, and a second chance.

Want to help beyond donating? We would love to welcome more volunteers to our mission! We are always looking for:
✨ Foster homes
✨ Adoption event volunteers
✨ Petco habitat cleaners
✨ Social media and special event helpers

Thank you for helping us continue to save lives, one cat at a time.

Happy National Hairball Awareness Day!

Hairballs—every cat parent has dealt with them at some point (yes, even those nearly hairless Sphynx kitties… they’re just a little more sneaky about it). While they’re a normal part of feline life, understanding them can make a big difference in your cat’s comfort and health.

Hairballs form when your cat’s tongue—designed like a tiny brush—pulls loose fur during grooming. Most of that hair passes through the digestive system, but sometimes it collects into… well… that lovely little surprise you find on the floor.

According to the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, seeing a hairball every week or two isn’t unusual. But when they become frequent, large, or difficult to pass, they can lead to serious issues like blockages.

Keep an eye out for warning signs:
• Lethargy
• Loss of appetite (more than a day)
• Repeated, unsuccessful retching
• Constipation or straining in the litter box

With shedding seasons in full swing (hello spring coat blowout!), now is the perfect time to stay ahead of hairballs.

Here’s how you can help your cat:
• Regular brushing to remove loose fur
• Professional grooming to keep coats under control
• Hairball-support foods & treats
• Plenty of fresh water (fountains are a favorite!)

At The Cat Connection, we’re here to help make hairball season a little less… dramatic. Stop by for hairball remedies, grooming tools, or schedule a spa day with our grooming team to keep your cat feeling their best.

Because fewer hairballs = happier cats (and cleaner floors)
