2016 was a weird year for me. Good things happened, and so did bad. I was hosting events with my besties- with and with . I traveled. I felt a lot of love from those around me..until I didn’t.

I had a big breakup that year. I was heartbroken at the thought of starting over. I was always independent but let go of some of that because he asked me too. So after the breakup I was scared about having to afford life on my own.

That year I promised to never settle for anything again, to make my own money (a lot of it), and to never live with another man until I was married (something I honestly shouldn’t have done in the first place). But even through all of that, I grew. I began to regain my independence. I found joy in the things I did. I grieved a relationship and then learned how blessed I was to not be stuck in it. Mostly? I learned how loved I was and who really does not play about me.

I didn’t really find my happy again until the next year, but I’m proud of 2016 Ginger for pushing through!

And yes, those last two pics are the breakup haircut I immediately regretted 🤣 It was my first time putting heat on my hair since I went natural and I had no clue my hair was so long. Another thing I promised to never do - cut my hair post breakup. DONT DO IT LADIES.
