Kanarys, a pioneering technology company dedicated to driving long-term systemic change through advanced workforce and people analytics, is proud to announce its acquisition by an investment vehicle company created by a group of former Chief Diversity Officers (CDOs) to acquire the company. The company has chosen to remain in stealth mode for the time being, and is committed to advancing the mission of Kanarys’ by leveraging their extensive industry knowledge and strategic insights.

Going forward, Kanarys will operate under a new name, which will be unveiled in Q4 of 2024. The new ownership group plans to invest heavily in incorporating generative AI and other innovative technologies into Kanarys' software, enabling the most robust end-to-end consulting and technology solutions for DEIB on the market.

Meet Mandy Price, the powerhouse behind Kanarys, Inc.

In 2018, Mandy put aside her career as a successful Harvard-educated attorney to co-found Kanarys. She was inspired to change the world around her. Ultimately, she knew it was her life’s calling to help workplaces examine the way they do things at a foundational level.

Mandy's trailblazing efforts have garnered both local and national recognition. In 2023, she was honored as a finalist for the prestigious EY Entrepreneur Of The Year 2023 Southwest Award, celebrated as a Founder of the Year on AfroTech's Future 50 List, and recognized as a 2023 Top HR Tech Influencer by Human Resource Executive.

In addition, Mandy has been featured on Inc.'s Female Founders 100 list, named one of Entrepreneur Magazine's Top 100 Most Powerful Women of 2020, and received numerous local accolades such as D Magazine's Dallas 500, D CEO and Dallas Innovates' Innovation Award in Talent and Diversity, Dallas Business Journal's Women in Business Award, and more.

Despite Black women receiving only 0.06% of venture capital funding, Kanarys co-founder and CEO, Mandy Price, has defied the odds. Last year, she successfully raised over $10M in VC funding to help companies advance and measure DEIB within their organization. 👏

This accomplishment placed Mandy among a select group of fewer than 20 Black female founders who have raised over $10M, and with this funding, Kanarys became the first Black and female-founded company based in Texas to achieve this milestone.

This groundbreaking accomplishment not only highlights Mandy's tenacity and business acumen but also serves as an inspiration for all underrepresented entrepreneurs who strive to make a difference.

Last month, the Greater Washington Area Chapter of the National Bar Association Women Lawyers Division hosted a panel discussion examining the results of our recent collaborative report, “The State of Black Women in the Law.”

The report indicates that although legal organizations are making progress toward diversity and inclusion, Black women attorneys still face significant underrepresentation, discrimination, and the responsibility of educating others on DEIB solely based on their race.

The volunteer Board of Directors for the Dallas Zoo consists of several dozen individuals who bring together tremendous experience from their own corporate, non-profit, philanthropic, and volunteer efforts to assist with high-level strategy, oversight, and accountability for the organization.
