MY THOUGHTS ON THE QUESTION: Why do many people fear starting something new?

For me, many people fear starting something new because it puts them in a position where they no longer feel in control.

When you begin something unfamiliar, you are no longer the person who knows everything. You become the one asking questions, making mistakes, and learning in public. That alone can make people uncomfortable.

There is also the fear of failure. People think, “What if I try and it does not work?” So they stay where things feel safe, even if that place is not helping them grow.

Take a simple example. Someone may want to start a small business, but they keep delaying it. Not because they lack the idea, but because they are afraid of losing money or being laughed at if it does not succeed. Another person may want to start posting content online, but they keep overthinking every line, worrying about judgment.

In truth, starting something new will always carry risk. But staying where nothing changes also carries a hidden cost.

That is why many people remain stuck. Not because they cannot start, but because the fear of discomfort feels heavier than the hope of progress.
