What the audience hears in an hour takes much longer to build.
Today we’re releasing my conversation with Montez Jones on Principles for Success, the Chris Howell Podcast, and I keep coming back to what these photos remind me of: every meaningful conversation begins long before anyone presses record. The preparation, the trust, the willingness to go beyond surface answers. That’s where the real work happens.
The results people see in public are produced in private.
The full episode is out now, available wherever you get your podcasts. I think this one will stay with you.

I didn't watch the news this morning before I prayed. That was on purpose.
Not because I'm hiding from what's happening in the world. I know what's out there. War talk. Prices climbing. People losing sleep over things they can't control.
But I've learned something over the years. Whatever fills you first leads you all day. If the noise gets me before the peace does, the noise wins. So I start quiet. I get my heart right, then I face the day.
You can't calm the world, but you can calm your corner of it. Your family feels it. Your coworkers feel it. The room feels it before you say a word.
Be that today. Somebody near you needs it more than they'll ever tell you.

Whether it’s a television interview, a keynote, or a conversation with one person, every meaningful message deserves preparation.
This moment wasn’t about reviewing notes.
It was about making sure every word, every idea, and every conversation reflected the standard we set for ourselves.
Behind every meaningful conversation is a team committed to getting it right before anyone ever sees the finished product.
Leadership isn’t just what you say.
It’s how intentionally you prepare to say it.
