Two, new, and quite unique Harkenzo Blades:
• A folding blade with African Zebrawood grips, inlayed with Walrus Tusk Ivory [fossilized], Sleeping Beauty Turquoise, real silver and 23kt gold flakes.
• A Viking-Style, Bearded Axe with a char-finished Black Walnut handle, Bison leather accents, and a hand-drawn etching of Odin’s Raven + a Viking skull.
I have a few other new pieces, but unfortunately, I can’t share photos of them since they are packaged-up and being shipped out to have their handmade, custom leather sheaths made.
I’ll try to remember to post pics when I get them back, with sheaths.

Hand-forged from 🇯🇵 Japanese Hitachi “Blue Paper” Steel™️
7” Kitchen Knife! 🍱🍣🥒🔪
This imported, layered & patterned Japanese Hitachi “Blue Paper” Steel™️ billet/bar (from which a knife is forged) is crafted in a very similar manner to that of The Legendary Swords—a core of rigid, hard, High-Carbon Steel...surrounded by layers of softer, more flexible, Low-Carbon Steel.
The result is an incredibly strong steel blade, which still retains its ability to flex and bend, without snapping or shattering...and the exposed High-Carbon Steel (running along the length of the Santoku’s cutting edge) is capable of taking an EXTREMELY SHARP, FINE edge, and it has an unmatched ability to RETAIN its sharpness through cutting use!
Another unique attribute of The Santoku is that it had a CHISELED BEVEL—meaning that the bevel is only ground onto one side of the knife’s blade. This makes it IDEAL for slicing softer foods (like sushi rolls, fruits, vegetables, etc.) without “smashing” them, and it also makes The Santoku MUCH FASTER to sharpen and hone, since only one side is run across the whetstone.
Lastly, I finished off this blade—which has considerable beauty in the Steel’s pattern alone—with EXHIBITION-GRADE Satinwood Burl wood handles, imported from Sri Lanka.
The finished piece is a lifetime blade, which looks as amazing as it works in the hands of its new owner! (Whether a professional 👨🏻🍳 chef, or an everyday, ordinary at-home cook, like the rest of us 🙂)

Harkenzo’s new creation: Authentic Knife Grips!
This 100% AUTHENTIC WWII M1 CARBINE STOCK has been reclaimed, repurposed, and [is very soon-to-be] reused as an extremely unique pair of SOLID BLACK WALNUT HARDWOOD KNIFE HANDLES!
***INFANTRYMAN’S OBSERVATION: UNLIKE POG’S...THESE SOLID 100% AMERICAN 🇺🇸 HARDWOOD KNIFE HANDLES HAVE SEEN BATTLE BEFORE!!! 😂😂😂 ***
The knives which will be forged with THESE “WWII WOOD GRIPS” will UNDOUBTEDLY be quite a conversation piece, and a prized, valued possession to anyone who owns one! (PERFECT gift for the American Patriot, and/or Veteran in your life—I guarantee they’ll love it!)
Using WWII-Era M1 Garand & M1 Carbine Stocks, which either have damage, or are [for one reason or another] no longer desirable for the fi****ms enthusiasts who restore/rebuild these antique pieces of American History: I carefully & strategically cut the solid Black Walnut Wood stocks into small “boards” which those of us in the craft refer to as “Knife Scales” (small wooden boards/pieces which are measured & cut into the ideal dimensions to later be fashioned into a knife handle) being mindful to waste AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE.
With only enough sanding to remove the antique finishing/top coat, a marked and battle-scarred surface is revealed, which I describe as the “Rustic/Reclaimed Look” and it’s similar to the look and charm of old Barnwood.
If the antique wood is completely sanded down enough to remove all of the surface marks, blemishes, and imperfections which these WWII M1 Garand/Carbine Stocks received throughout their use, then a much newer-looking surface comes out, which I call the “Renewed/Restored Look.” It looks almost like freshly cut Black Walnut, except the color, texture and appearance of the wood grain are clearly that of an older, more antique wood.
ONE source of Historic, Battle-Hardened Black Walnut Wood—Available with TWO distinctly different finishes! 🤩
Personally, I love the Rustic Look, because it shows the History of this DISTINCT, UNIQUE, and clearly ONE-OF-A-KIND sources of hardwood. When you look at this Black Walnut, and see the lines, dents, and scratches across its perfectly imperfect surface...you can’t help but reflect upon what all that Young Soldier endured, ALWAYS carrying his M1 Rifle/Carbine close at his side, throughout the wonders and the horrors of WWII! 🤔
And after all—if you don’t love the distinct “character” and charm of these reclaimed, WWII Rifle/Carbine Stocks—then you can most certainly always pick out some brand new hardwood, and it is undoubtedly a lot more cost-effective (and much less RARE)!
💥 SO WHO WANTS A CUSTOM, HAND-FORGED BLADE, WITH A VERY SPECIAL, UNIQUE, HISTORIC AND HIGHLY HONORED/REVERED HANDLE MATERIAL, WHICH HAS BEEN CAREFULLY HARVESTED FROM AN M1 GARAND/CARBINE WHICH HAS TRAVELED THROUGH THE EPIC, BLOOD-SOAKED, WORLD-CHANGING BATTLEFIELDS OF WWII??? 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
