There are times when others need to come first, and that’s okay. Especially for people pleasers, putting others before yourself can feel natural, even necessary. But here’s the truth: it can’t always be all the time.

You’ve probably heard the advice: “Put your oxygen mask on first before helping others.” ✈️ It’s not selfish, it’s essential. Because when you’re running on empty, you can’t truly show up for anyone else.

For a long time, I swung the pendulum too far one way, spilling myself into others and often neglecting my own needs. But I think of this balance like an infinity loop: sometimes the “people-pleasing” side is wide and dominant, while the “self-care” side feels small or distant. Other times, it flips. The key is recognizing that both sides need tending.

And it’s not about perfect balance every day, it’s about flow. An ebb and flow that shifts with life’s seasons. 🌱

Notice where your loop is right now.
♾️ Are you leaning too far out for others and losing yourself?
♾️Or maybe you’re retreating inward, needing more care before reaching out again.

Both sides deserve attention, and both are important.

How can you gently tend to your own needs today, so you can continue caring for those around you tomorrow? 🌱
